Henry's first Christmas

Henry had a wonderful first Christmas! He started off by letting Mommy and Daddy get a pretty good night's sleep. He got many great presents thanks to friends and family. He even went for a walk in the snow.

Henry is 11 days old!

Henry is going great! He's been eating and sleeping well. At the doctor yesterday we learned that he has gained a ton of weight (and that is a good thing!). He is up to 6 lbs. 9 oz. Everything else looked good, too. Right now Henry prefers to sleep in his car seat, but we're working on the bassinet and crib.

At 6:12 am on Friday, December 10, 2010 Henry James Dillon made his entrance into the world! At birth he was 19.7 inches long and 5 lbs. 14 oz. He immediately showed us that he has strong, healthy lungs! We think he's the cutest thing we've ever seen and we feel so lucky that he is part of our family. During our short hospital stay we were lucky to have Grandma and Grandpa Foster, Laura and Shelly Day, Nicole Gilman, Jim O'Connell, and Nicole Kordos visit us. Henry came home at about 3 pm on December 11. He was happy to meet Gracie and to see his home!

38 weeks

We're almost there! Baby is expected to make his arrival in 2 weeks. Yesterday after going to a routine doctor appointment, we were sent to the hospital for a nonstress test and ultrasound to estimate the baby's size. The doctor wanted to make sure he is growing the way he should be. We listened to his heartbeat for 20 minutes, and the doctor said he sounded great! The ultrasound predicted that he is currently 6 pounds. He's a little on the small side, but is expected to be nice and healthy at birth! His nursery is now complete as well!

35 weeks

We are getting close to Baby Dillon's due date! It's hard to wait. At our last doctor appointment we had another ultrasound because she wanted to see for herself that the baby is a boy. She agreed with the other doctor, that it is 100% boy! We, of course, have pictures to prove it! The "new" nursery is coming along and hopefully everything will be finished in time.

Today we had another ultrasound to further verify that Baby Dillon is male. HE SURE IS! Last week his estimated weight was 4 lbs. The doctor is predicting that he'll weigh about 6 lbs, 10 oz. at birth. His heart rate is 143 BPM and his organs all look good. We only have 5 weeks to go and we can't wait to meet him!

It's a boy?!

Surprise, surprise!! We are having a boy. What a shock we had at our ultrasound yesterday. Here is the "proof" although I don't think we'll truly be convinced until the little baby is born. The top is a picture of his boy parts. SURPRISE! The bottom picture is a close up of baby's face. He is sticking out his tongue and he kept blinking at us. Maybe he was happy that his true identity was finally revealed.

Nursery pictures--it's almost ready

The baby's furniture finally arrived! We are just putting the finishing touches on the nursery. Mark is painting the shelves and I am busy folding teeny baby clothes and putting them in the dresser. Thank you again to Mark's parents for painting the nursery, and my mom for sewing the curtains and bed skirt and buying our glider (which is so comfortable, by the way!) We are anxiously awaiting her arrival..... in about 7 weeks!

Family shower in Ohio

Mark's parents had our family over for a shower and family get together. It was fun to see everyone! Baby Dillon continues to be spoiled...

32 weeks!

Here we are at 32 weeks. Baby Dillon is approximately 3.5 lbs. and 17 inches long. She is almost full grown!

the nursery--it's a process

We're gradually assembling the nursery. Mark put together the book cases and night stand and hung the curtains made by Grandma Marcie. Mark's parents came for a visit to help us out by painting the baby's room. It's starting to look great!

28 weeks and a baby shower

I'm 28 weeks today. Yesterday, my mom threw us an amazing baby shower. It was so wonderful to see so many of our family members and friends. Baby Dillon is already very loved!

24 week belly picture

Baby Dillon is only 16 weeks away from her due date! She weighs about a pound and a half. She is really starting to kick, too!

It's a girl!

Today we found out that Baby Dillon is a girl! We got to see lots of pictures of her face, feet, hands, and butt. She is so cute already. Her heart rate was a strong 140 BPM. The top two pictures are pretty obviously her face (you can see her hand in the top picture). The third picture shows her arm on the right and her tummy on the left. In the bottom picture she is staring right at you with her head on the right and her tummy on the left.

21 weeks

This morning we had our 2nd trimester screening at the hospital. The doctor told us that the baby is doing great. The bones, spine, and heart are developing normally. He estimated the baby's weight to be 11 ounces.

We were also hoping to find out the baby's gender today, but the baby's legs were squished together and he couldn't tell for sure. (He did say it is probably a girl.... but we don't know for sure.)

Baby Dillon is just starting to show... only 23 weeks to go!

3rd Ultrasound

On June 3rd we had our 3rd ultrasound. Baby was wide awake, bouncing up and down, and waving its arms. The heart rate was 155 BPM and the official measurement was 6.6 cm, which is 2.6 inches. Baby Dillon is right on target! The top image shows baby waving. The bottom image is a 4D image. You can see the top of baby's head, little arms, belly, and little legs.

2nd ultrasound

We had our second ultrasound at 12.5 weeks. Even though s/he is only 3 inches long, Baby Dillon is looking more and more like a little person! Check out the eyes, nose, and feet! The heart rate sounded good at 150 BPM.

1st ultrasound

We had our first ultrasound at 8.5 weeks. Baby Dillon is doing a headstand. The heart rate was strong at 176 BPM. It's hard to believe that s/he was only half an inch long!

Baby Dillon is expected December 12. We had a great time telling family and friends our news. Gracie especially enjoyed telling Mark that he was going to be a daddy!
